South side & Fifthward Street Photography

I had a chance to get together for lunch with Patrick Trautfield. We headed down to the south side of Milwaukee to partake in some awesomely amazing mexican food at “El Local” . Honestly some of the best mexican food I have ever had. Not that I have lot to compare it to living here in Milwaukee, But damn it. Its good!

After lunch we decided to make our way around the area for a little street photography. I must say the area has some character. From the massive amount of church presence to the bright colors of the houses around. Makes for some awesome subjects. I tossed my 35mm 1.8f lens on the D700 and practiced a little shooting from the hip technique. Its a challenge, but it rocks!

After a bit of walking around there we headed down to the Fifth ward to meet up with Dave, Shots some more pics /video.

Here are a few from the adventures.

Enjoy

The sky in the first picture seems impossibly blue.

Geek reference: Like a slide background from an old version of PowerPoint.

Ross Catterton

A few weeks back I recived an email from Ross. Ross had emailed me to see if I would be interested in helping him expand his portfolio with some awesome images. How can I resist when some one wants to make awesome images? I mean come on really?

Ross and I had emailed back and forth and picked a day that worked awesome for the two of us. If just had happened to be April 1st, which was just an awesome day here in Milwaukee. 80 degrees or so most of the day, Sunny, not alot of wind. What more could we ask for?

Ross brought a few changes of clothes, his horn ( He plays the Sax), and we hit up the third ward for a while during golden hour and twilight. Shot some natural light and strobes, then headed to the roof top of the Astor hotel. Made for an awesome background and just amazing lighting up there.

Here are just a few pics from the shoot. I had way…… To many to post.

Enjoy

Reese – Newborn

Alrighty folks here is something a little bit different for me. Photographing a newborn.

I had the pleasure to photography Reese yesterday (04.01.2010), I believe she was a mire 9 days old or so. She was just so small and adorable, I wanted to take her home. I knew that would not happen by any means. Sara, her proud mom would never let that happen.  Last May and June I had the pleasure of working with Sara a few times and making some awesome photographs. The last time we had shot she had mentioned to me that she was a few weeks pregnant. The first thing out of my mouth was ” I’ll be photographing her when she is born”.  Fast forward 9 months later and check out the photos.

Enjoy
