Anne + Scott | Milwaukee Engagement Session | Milwaukee Wedding Photographer

On Sunday I continued my marathon weekend of photographing every under the sun to the tune of over 5000 images.. Yikes!

I had the pleasure of getting together with Anne and Scott for a little engagement session action down in the 5th ward. I am glad I finally was able to get together with these two, it was a long time coming.  Scott being in medical school really puts a bind on his schedule to have photo shoots ( I’m sure he has more of them than anyone can imagine).

(Record screech)

Lets rewind a little bit for a moment. I met Anne and Scott through a co worker of mine, Jarod ( More about him later..). We had got together right after my wonderful stay in Las Vegas for WPPI 2010. We chatted, had a coffee at Alterra (In my case hot chocolate) professed out love for the brewers, I think I may even have asked them to marry me. But I am not to sure on that…

Scott and I had talked over facebook and countless emails about locations, dates, time of day, fashion advice ( The most fashion advice I can offer up would have been learned from Tim Gunn on Project Runway). After long, hard, FBI style interrogations of each other we settled on last Sunday.

Ok, back to now’ish!

We met up at the Milwaukee Public Market and made our way from there to the 5th ward. Headed to a few of my favorite spots and even a few new ones that I have never been to before. I proved to be an adventure for sure.

Things took a turn for the crazy at that point.  Scott cut his hand open on a hunk of glass, I was asked repeatedly by a unibomber esq man if I needed a ride, ran into kids trying to break into an abandon building. And the mention of Jarod popped up as well.  Soooo….  There had been a running promise made by Jarod to myself, Anne, and Scott. That he would find us while we were having our wonderful time and run through streaking in the background of all the photos.  If most people made this promise, you would just brush it off, laugh and keep on. I wasn’t so sure that would be the case with Jarod.  Anne and Scott brought it up while we were in a small field and the thought kept crossing my mind. Luckily or unluckily (Depends who you ask) he did not find us. But I will be keeping an eye from here on out on you, sir!

Well enjoy!

And this one is for Scott.

Cyndi + Vic | Milwaukee Area Wedding | Rob Gustafson Milwaukee Wedding Photographer

Well folks, Images have finally been delivered to Cyndi + Vic. So you know what that means!

Yup you got it, a wonderful blog post. I mean, Heck! Why not?

Cyndi and Vic had an awesome wedding in my book. It was on a Thursday, Thursday? Thursday!  I know, I know! You ask “Who has a wedding on a Thursday?”  Well these two did and it was awesome!  Great location, fantastic weather, Amazing company, Wild turkeys. What more could you ask for? Yeah thats right wild turkeys! Not jive turkeys ( Well maybe some jive wild turleys).

So Vic and I go way back. Well.. maybe 5 years or so but considering thats about one fifth of my life I will consider it way back. I got a Facebook email from him a few months ago telling me that he was engaged, I couldn’t have been happier for him ( He has to be one of the most genuinely nice people you would ever meet, really I mean that). One of my first thoughts was “Who is his wonderful lady?”. I wound up meeting Cyndi a few weeks later as we all met up at Champp’s in Brookfield for some lunch and some photography discussions. After a few moments with them I could picture them getting married. You know that feeling when you can just tell with two people? Yeah that one.

A few weeks later we got together again for a little signing of the contract festivities at Mo’s Irish pub in Wauwatosa. This is where my first contract was signed on the new iPad ( Cyndi + Vic where the first).

Fast forward to August  19th 2010. The big day.

They had the ceremony and reception at the Schlitz Autobahn Center in Bayside (Milwaukee Area). I must admit it was the first time I had been there since I was in 5th grade on a field trip. I could have never imagined being back there to photograph a wedding..

There is no other venue that I think could have matched up for their day. That place is just pure amazing for a wedding… Fantastic look and feel, wonderful details ( Wild flowers like no ones business, Wild Turkeys, a lake), and not to mention great staff!

Well enough of the typing and on with more of the viewing!

Enjoy and make sure to show a little love with some comments below!

Tanya | Milwaukee Senior 2011| Milwaukee Senior Portrait Photographer

Todays senior session took us under bridges, In boats, on couches, rail cars, abandon lots, skate parks. All in just two locations, Word!

Tanya is the daughter of a co worker of mine at my full time job. She had not yet had her senior portraits done and they needed to be in by this coming Tuesday ( Enter Me and some awesome super hero music here).  So we ventured off to un chartered territory, or just some unsavory places which in all reality are awesome for shooting some photos. I was hoping for a little more light tonight, But what the heck? They turned out awesome anyway!

Photographing seniors gives me the overwhelming urge to go back to high school, and enjoy the easy life all over again. You never realize as a kid of easy you have it until its gone.  Being able to enjoy summers, only worrying about getting up before noon and where you and you friends were going to grab lunch for the day.

It also reminds me of the awesome quotes people would leave in your school year book. I decided to google high school senior quotes, and let me tell ya. Its a blast.

In other news, I got a new camera bag today. From an army surplus store. Its made better than any other bag I have found. Thinking I should post a photo or two of it because I am just simply in love with it.  Whad ya think?

Leave a comment like a year book quote! Lets hear some good ones…..  School is like a lollipop. It sucks until it is gone
